the CMT2310A Wireless RF Transceiver Chip, 
Successfully Passed Wi-SUN Alliance Certification

HOPERF's fully independently developed CMT2310A wireless RF transceiver chip has successfully already passed the Wi-SUN® Alliance PHY certification and received the official certificate in April, 2022.

The Wi-SUN (Wireless Smart Ubiquitous Network) Alliance is a global industry association dedicated to seamless connectivity, comprising over 250 member companies. HOPERF became a member in August 2021. Alliance members have launched over 150 Wi-SUN certified products and have deployed nearly ten million Wi-SUN-supported devices worldwide. With the support of the Alliance, each member product undergoes a series of interoperability tests and certification programs, allowing the entire Wi-SUN ecosystem to offer a wide range of products that enable long-range communication, interoperability, and self-organizing networks. These products are suitable for smart metering, advanced metering infrastructure, power generation and distribution, street lighting, large-scale smart city infrastructures, and other industrial IoT applications.

The CMT2310A wireless transceiver chip fully complies with the Wi-SUN FAN 1.0 specifications and functional requirements. It operates in the RF communication frequency range of 113-928 MHz, making it suitable for global frequency bands. It boasts a maximum transmission power of 20 dBm and a maximum receiving sensitivity of -122 dBm @ 2.4 kbps, offering advantages such as long-distance communication, ultra-low power consumption, and integrated transceiver functionality.

 

The characteristics of Wi-SUN transmission technology include long-range transmission, security, high scalability, interoperability, ease of deployment, and mesh networking capabilities. Coupled with its low power consumption (the battery life of Wi-SUN chips can potentially last up to ten years) and the ultra-low power consumption of the CMT2310A, this chip can be applied in communication devices such as smart meters and home energy management systems (HEMS), facilitating the development of large-scale, wide-area IoT solutions. Additionally, the Wi-SUN Field Area Network (FAN) operates on a mesh network, allowing the CMT2310A to establish multiple connections with surrounding devices, relay data through multiple links, and enhance reliability.

 

The CMT2310A can be applied in automatic meter reading, home security and building automation, ISM band data communications, industrial monitoring and control, remote control and security systems, remote keyless entry, wireless sensor nodes, tag readers, and other IoT communication scenarios. HOPERF's wireless RF chip series has been widely adopted in the smart IoT field, receiving high recognition in the market. The official Wi-SUN certification of HOPERF's chip products will contribute to further development in the smart IoT application market.
